Scholarship Program

Applications for the Community Impact Scholarship Program (CISP) are now available. Due by Monday, January 9, 2017.

 

This scholarship is awarded by Casa Circulo Cultural in participation with the Sheriff’s Youth Program Fund.

 

Casa Circulo Cultural is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 that provides county youth and families with year-round, culturally based programs. It is a truly vibrant grass-root, multidisciplinary art organization dedicated to creating cultural programming reflective of the experiences of the Latino communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. We offer a variety of fun, enriching, and engaging classes and workshops for every member of the family. More importantly, all of our classes are taught in Spanish to develop, preserve and encourage the Latino and Hispanic arts and culture.

 

This is the first year that Casa Circulo Cultural is offering the Community Impact Scholarship program (CISP). The purpose of this scholarship to help inspire and encourage High School students wanting to continue and complete a higher education, while promoting community service with high impact programs in our communities.

 

A total of $23,000 - $30,000 will be awarded in scholarships to up to five finalists.

REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS

 

The Community Impact Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of performance of a high-impact community service project and a face-to-face jury evaluation with the scholarship committee.

 

Graduating High School Seniors Only

 

To qualify, you must:

 

Be a High School Senior

Have a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for High School Students

Plan to enroll Full-Time in an accredited 4-year college, university or graduate school during FALL of scholarship cycle year

 

Other:

 

Must either live or attend High School in San Mateo County.

All majors and graduate fields accepted

Must be available for all Deadlines (see Deadlines) *link deadlines page

DEADLINES

All students must comply with all deadlines • No late applications will be accepted • No makes ups allowed • Must be physically present for the interview, the presentation of the project, and the awards ceremony.

 

Failure to abide by these rules will result in disqualification.

APPLICATION

Description

 

The CISP Scholarship is designed to assist students to obtain a college degree.

 

Scholarships are available, on a competitive basis, to: ✓ Graduating High School Seniors only.

 

A completed application package must include:

  • The Application Form.
  • Two academic letters of recommendation.
  • Essay on community involvement, 300 – 350 words in length to propose the high impact community service project that you will be working on if chosen

 

 

 

Awards

 

Awards are based on merit; a total of $23,000 – $30,000 will be awarded in scholarships to up to five finalists. One finalist can receive up to a $10,000 scholarship. The four remaining finalists will be awarded up to a $5,000 scholarship.
